Rex and Cody Phase 2 Action Figures

Following on from our post in April where I showed off my Phase 1 versions of Rex and Cody, I've since collected the new Phase 2 Clone Wars versions of both.

I'm loving Rex's new look, with the Phase 2 helmet but a Phase 1 visor (essentially the reverse of this guy) plus he's covered in tally marks for all his kills in the war so far. The big question around Rex still remains, will we see him die on the Clone Wars and when?

The Cody figure is nice however it's not quite as cool as the Cody figure that came out alongside ROTS, this one is a good deal skinnier since he's in the Clone Wars style. The figure came with an unusual backpack accessory but unless I see it in some form of canon I'm not interested in displaying him with it.

Here's the two clones with their Jedi commanders, I posted the Anakin when I first got it but I don't think I've shown off this Obi-wan yet, will some him in a few more photos soon.

Finally a couple of fun photos of each clone, Rex above with a couple of 501st troopers lit to look like Umbara, below Cody and one of his troopers blasting a Commando Droid.

Probe Droid's Arrival

I've come up with a new way of doing these movie scene shoots because I felt they were too similar to the weekly action figure posts and it was making the blog look messy. With the power of photoshop I've removed the probe droid from these stills and replaced it with a photograph of my probe droid action figure.

I'm pleased with the result and am planning to do a whole lot more in this vain so if you're a regular visitor I'd value any feed back. We've also now removed the indexes from this site as it's too big a job to maintain, however if you want galleries you can find all our movie re-enactments going forward on our facebook page at www.facebook.com/kishometeora.

"Lord Vader... Can you hear me?"

Another set I picked up at Invasion Dublin this year, in front left you have an FX-6 medical droid, in the center is Darth Vader with removable helmet and chest panel complete with medical table, behind Vader is a 2-1B and on the right is a DD-13 (also known as a 'Chopper Droid', presumably to chop off the burnt stubs?)

All the figures seen in these top two images come in one pack (with the exception of the FX-6), I picked the pack up as I thought it was really cool concept and thought it'd make for a cool blog post. Some limitations however in that only two pieces of Vader are removable.

The helmet unfortunately is one piece, mask and helmet separately would have allowed for some better photos. The above photo really wasn't possible with the scale we work in (at least not for us) but I like the lighting so I've left it in.

More detail in the face of this figure would have been nice too, his skin is all one colour, some pattern to the burns/scars could've made a massive difference.

Properly cheating here in that the above is NOT THE ACTION FIGURE, instead its a happy meal toy where you open it up and it has a maze game inside. It's just a trinket I've kept but was the only way of getting this shot and look for more of these 'cheats' going forward as it'll allow us to do a wider ranger of shots.

The table itself is maybe the coolest part, it pivots from flat to standing and has a clip/switch at the bottom so when fully upright the wrist restraints pop open.

This Palptine I've used a few time before, it originally came in a battle pack with Yoda, two Clones and a senate pod.

I'm sure many fans didn't want to hear any more whining about Padme right after Anakin finally becomes Darth Vader in his full glory, but I think it's well delivered by James Earl Jones and ties the two iterations of the character together nicely.

Palpatine is fantastic all throughout Revenge of the Sith, again the delivery of the lines is great.

What we need now is a birth of the twins battle pack to go with this, come on Hasbro, I know I'd buy it.
(Also to note, this is a different Vader figure in the last photo, the one from the set doesn't have enough articulation for the pose.)

Wedge Antilles Action Figure

One of my all time favourite Star Wars characters, Wedge Antilles. Literally Luke's wingman'in the movies and the star of the excellent X-wing novels by Michael Stackpole and Aaron Allston.

I've seen people online complaining that this figure is rare and goes for a quite a bit on ebay, I was lucky enough to find this hanging from the pegs in a local toy store.

Here's a couple of photos of Wedge with the X-wing. Below from left to right: Biggs Darklighter, Jek Perkins, R2-T7, Wedge Antilles, Dutch Vandar and Luke Skywalker plus R2-D2 up in the X-wing.

Rex and Cody Phase 1 Action Figures

Two figures I've had since The Clone Wars movie was in the cinema but have only posted in  a couple of images each.

They're essentially the same figure, not as good as some of the more recent TCW figures but they have a decent amount of articulation and the detail's not bad.

Here they are with the original Obi-wan and Anakin from that figure line as well.

Below Cody and Rex go up against a couple of Commando Droids and a Super Battledroid with the help of  Clone Troopers Denal and Echo.
