Rex and Cody Phase 2 Action Figures

Following on from our post in April where I showed off my Phase 1 versions of Rex and Cody, I've since collected the new Phase 2 Clone Wars versions of both.

I'm loving Rex's new look, with the Phase 2 helmet but a Phase 1 visor (essentially the reverse of this guy) plus he's covered in tally marks for all his kills in the war so far. The big question around Rex still remains, will we see him die on the Clone Wars and when?

The Cody figure is nice however it's not quite as cool as the Cody figure that came out alongside ROTS, this one is a good deal skinnier since he's in the Clone Wars style. The figure came with an unusual backpack accessory but unless I see it in some form of canon I'm not interested in displaying him with it.

Here's the two clones with their Jedi commanders, I posted the Anakin when I first got it but I don't think I've shown off this Obi-wan yet, will some him in a few more photos soon.

Finally a couple of fun photos of each clone, Rex above with a couple of 501st troopers lit to look like Umbara, below Cody and one of his troopers blasting a Commando Droid.

Rex and Cody Phase 1 Action Figures

Two figures I've had since The Clone Wars movie was in the cinema but have only posted in  a couple of images each.

They're essentially the same figure, not as good as some of the more recent TCW figures but they have a decent amount of articulation and the detail's not bad.

Here they are with the original Obi-wan and Anakin from that figure line as well.

Below Cody and Rex go up against a couple of Commando Droids and a Super Battledroid with the help of  Clone Troopers Denal and Echo.

Been after this figure since watching the character's debut in TCW season 3, I love the idea of a clone that's part phase 1 and part phase 2.

Feel free to correct me in comments but I think this is the first time they've released a clone figure where the targeting sensor is articulated.

Rex and 501st Clone Troopers on Umbara action figures

Just a quick tribute to the Umbara story arc that wrapped up in this week's TCW, brilliant episodes and brilliant characters.

Echo Action Figure

I few of the blogs I follow have been paying tribute to Echo this week after his untimely death on last week's TCW episode so here's mine.

This is CT-21-0408 aka Echo, he got this nickname for constantly 'echoing' reg manuals. Echo first appeared in season one where his squad met Rex and Cody, Rex calls Echo a 'shiney' in reference to his unmarked armour and gives him the blue hand print as in my tribute above.

Echo went on to appear in a total of five TCW episodes before his death making him one of the longest running characters to be killed off.

Captain Rex w/ TCW 501st Troopers and Speeder Bike

Gotta love Captain Rex, one of my many favourites from the Clone Wars TV series. Above you have a basic 501st trooper on the left, Rex in the middle and on the right is Denal (the trooper Cad Bane dispatched then impersonated at the start of TCW season 2). Behind the troopers I've included the blue 501st speeder bike which is pretty cool looking but its a nightmare getting the troopers to properly sit on it. To the right of this text is a close up of Rex without his helmet.

Some day I'd love to join the real life 501st group of Star Wars fans you often see out and about dressed as various Storm and Clone Troopers but I'd only do it if I could get the perfect Captain Rex costume, just something about the kama and pouldron I have to have.
