Han's return to Echo Base

Little bit late with this week's movie scene but better late than never. Above, as well as action figures, I've used part of my Star Wars Miniatures collection to do the gun.

This photo took longer than I realised it would and didn't turn out as good as I'd hoped however it was a good learning experience and I look forward to trying to do similar images again.

"Don't Get Cocky!"

This Luke figure came as part of a deluxe pack that included a gunner seat with window from the Millenium Falcon. Its proportions aren't great but it makes for some fun photos.

This Chewie and Leia I've shown before, so far any time I've attempted to take photographs inside the falcon cockpit I've had to leave the roof off, in future I think I'll have a go at photoshopping the window frame back in.

This is the Han figure that comes with the Millenium Falcon, it's notably better than the Luke I've used in this post but they're the only two figures I have with the headsets.

This is a first for our movie scenes, these Tie Fighters are part of my Titanium collection. Not 100% happy with the contrast between the metal ship and the plastic figures but going forward I plan to do some more work with the titaniums as there's a lot of shots we can do with that collection.

Bit of a cheat here in that I actually took the lid off my Hasbro Tie Fighter and just placed it behind the figure.

As you can see here the guns are actually in the wrong place on the model, I still like it and think its neat.

This is a sticker on the gunner seat, its really small so sorry for the low quality photo.

I'm really happy with this one, I did of course have to use photoshop to make the Tie Fighters 'fly' around the falcon,

Check back next weekend to see where in the Star Wars storyline we jump to next!

Wedge Antilles Action Figure

One of my all time favourite Star Wars characters, Wedge Antilles. Literally Luke's wingman'in the movies and the star of the excellent X-wing novels by Michael Stackpole and Aaron Allston.

I've seen people online complaining that this figure is rare and goes for a quite a bit on ebay, I was lucky enough to find this hanging from the pegs in a local toy store.

Here's a couple of photos of Wedge with the X-wing. Below from left to right: Biggs Darklighter, Jek Perkins, R2-T7, Wedge Antilles, Dutch Vandar and Luke Skywalker plus R2-D2 up in the X-wing.

ARC 170 w/ Clone Pilot Action Figures

I've had this as long as I've been running this site but only getting round to it now. It's the starfighter you see the clones flying in ROTS however this paint deco is based on the original Clone Wars micro-series.

As with most Hasbro vehicles the action figures are of course sold separately and the pack of five figures cost me almost as much as the ship itself.

The ship holds three pilots, two in the front and a gunner in the rear and has a slot for an astromech. One pretty cool feature if you're a kid (or a childish adult) playing with this, it has a handle underneath so you can 'fly' it about.

Below are the five figures that accompany this fighter. You get two phase 2 clone troopers with deco to match the ship, and R4-C7 who I think looks fantastic (originally posted in March '11 as part of a larger astromech post). However see the problem? Only two clone pilots and as shown above, three seats.

That aside this is one my favourite pieces, the vehicle itself is made from solid plastic, it's nicely sculpted and the art is excellent.

"Do, or do not. There is no try."

"We'll never get it out now..."

"Do, or do not. There is no try."

"I can't... it's too big..."

"Luminous beings are we..."

"...not this crude matter."

"You want the impossible..."

"I don't... I don't believe it..."

"That is why you fail."
