EU: Revenge of the Sith Trilogy

Sticking with the Vader theme this evening, these books outline the transformation from Anakin Skywalker to Darth Vader. Left to right its Labyrinth of Evil, the novelization of Revenge of the Sith itself and thirdly Dark Lord: The Rise of Darth Vader. As I'm sure most reader of this blog will know ROTS is the big one where Palpatine declares himself emperor and the Republic falls and the novelization is even more awesome than the film itself however what you may not know about is the prequel book Labyrinth of Evil which really delves into the character of Anakin Skywalker and the turmoil and torment he's in the run up to ROTS, some particularly awesome things go down in this book including that business on Cato Neimodia that Obi-Wan thinks shouldn't count and an incredible scene in which Anakin loses his patience with an illusive Count Dooku and screams a ceiling down. Dark Lord then serves as the sequel to ROTS with its own story about a bunch of Jedi trying to escape Vader's purge however it's most notable for getting back into Vader's head in the aftermath of ROTS, this includes his rage at Kenobi and his anger at Palpatine for rebuilding him with such cheap and rubbish prosthetics, good entertainment and good insight. All Star Wars fans should be forced to read all three of these books whether or not you like the prequel trilogy.
